White House summons AI giants to call them to account

“A candid discussion of the risks ***ociated with artificial intelligence». It is with these words that the White House has summoned the leaders of the most advanced groups on this technology for a summit meeting which will take place this Thursday in Washington. In front of Satya Nadella (Microsoft), Sundar Pichai (Google), Sam Altman (Open AI) and Dario Amodei (Anthropic) will include Vice President Kamala Harris, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and White House Secretary General Jeff Zients.

According to the invitation, the purpose of the meeting is to discuss “current and near-term risks related to AI developments, how to mitigate them, and ways to work together to ensure that the American people benefit from these advances while protecting them from harm”.
