The young French Luca Van ***che (86th worldwide) and Arthur Son (124th in the world), both 18, qualified for the quarter-finals of the ATP 175 tournament (Challenger, clay) in Aix-en-Provence on Thursday.

Opposed to his compatriot Adrian Mannarino, 46th player in the world and seeded number 3 in Aix, Van ***che won in three sets (3-6, 6-3, 6-2).

In the quarter-finals, Van ***che, currently in full swing and who took a set two weeks ago from world number 1 Novak Djokovic at the Banja Luka tournament, will face the winner of the match between the Scot Andy Murray and Frenchman Laurent Lokoli.

After Van ***che’s qualification, it was Arthur Fils, another great hope of French tennis, who in turn reached the quarter-finals. He hardly beat another Frenchman, Quentin Halys, 66th in the world (7-5, 4-6, 7-6 (7-2)). He will face Belgian David Goffin in the quarter-finals.
