Freiburg returns to Union Berlin in 3rd place, Christopher Nkunku scores with Leipzig
If the Bundesliga title race definitely seems to be between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, the two remaining tickets for the Champions League are the envy. Matchday 30 matches on Saturday further tightened that race to third and fourth place.
Union Berlin defeated, Friburg and Leipzig get closer
The Union could still believe a little in a return to Bayern and BvB in the event of a victory against Bayer Leverkusen. The result, nil and goalless (0-0), turned the team’s gaze backwards. SC Friburg, winner of Cologne (1-0) thanks to a goal from Ritsu Doan, returned to equality with the club of the capital.
Leipzig, 5th, remains in contact thanks to its victory over Hoffenheim (1-0). Leverkusen will have to count on a final victory in the Europa League to join the C1 next season. With 6 points behind after the draw in Berlin, Xabi Alonso’s men seem far away.
Three French goalscorers
Christopher Nkunku hadn’t been on the pitch much since the injury that deprived him of the World Cup this winter. Holder for the first time since early March, he found the net against Hoffenheim, scoring the only goal of the match with the left foot. It is his 13th goal in the Championship this season. He returns to second place in the Bundesliga scorers’ rankings, tied with Marcus Thuram (Borussia M’Gladbach) and Randal Kolo Muani (Eintracht Frankfurt), both absent this weekend.
Franco-Guinean Serhou Guir***y and Tanguy Coulibaly both scored for VfB Stuttgart, and won three important points in the fight to maintain against Borussia M’Gladbach (2-1). Moussa Diaby was not very prominent for Bayer Leverkusen, and was replaced by Amine Adli in the 62nd minute of play.
