A federal process on “the notion of victory”

Rémi Gaspard, the performance director, clarified on Wednesday afternoon at The Team the way in which the federation had established its selection: “We were on notions of performance. What we were looking for internationally was performance on major deadlines, and doing it on D-Day. Then we looked at all the performances on the national identification time: we looked at the notion of victory – knowing how to win – and then, rather than looking instead, we looked at the rounds that were done in a performance minimum, which turns into a percentage. It is the percentage between the best time and the time of the 3rd – it is the podiums which interest us – on the times of the World Cups and the world championships of the last years. And so the choice was made. For me, we are not in mathematics but to know if there was historical perf and on the time of national identification.
It’s still decisions where behind, it’s deeply human. When I asked all the elements to the selection committee, we all confirmed this notion of having the three selected that we chose “
