The page of pension reform is slowly turning, to the sound of the cacophony of saucepans. The government wants to regain control and the Prime Minister, Elisabeth Borne presented the priorities of the “hundred days” on Wednesday decreed by Emmanuel Macron. A varied roadmap: “green industry” bill presented in mid-May, texts on “full employment” and on “value sharing” within the same deadline, justice bill examined before the summer, agricultural orientation law in the fall…

The government, which does not have an absolute majority in the National ***embly, will still have to rely on the votes of the opposition to push through its projects. Starting with the immigration bill, postponed for the moment until the fall. But the heckling in the National ***embly around the pension reform also brought to light the flaws within Nupes, as well as LR.

European Objective

The opposition emerges divided from this reform, adopted without a vote via 49.3. On the left, the LFI method did not only have supporters among the allies of the PS, EELV and the PCF. And the election of a dissident socialist during a partial legislative in Ariège also planted a corner in the union of the left. On the right of the government, at LR, the vote of the motion of censure of the LIOT group by a part of the deputies, rebellious, also testifies to the divisions, less than six months after the election of Eric Ciotti as president of the party.

Four years before the presidential elections, many on the right and on the left are already hearing the little music of the Elysée, while the National Rally increasingly appears to be the party to beat at this deadline. But first, there will be the Europeans. To have elected officials, it will be necessary to exceed the bar of 5% of the votes. In 2019 , the ax had not gone far from LFI (6.31%) and the Union of the Right and Center (8.48%), far behind the RN and Renaissance. In 2024, unity will undoubtedly be strength.
