Céline Dumerc’s Basket Landes stops in the quarter-finals of the French championship.

Bourges eliminated Basket Landes 86-59 on Saturday in the quarter-final second leg of the French Basketball Championship, in what was the last game of Céline Dumerc’s career.

The leader, Olympic vice-champion in London in 2012, scored 9 points in her last 23 minutes on a parquet floor at the age of 40, but she could not prevent the easy victory of the Tangos, the team where she lived the best years of her career.

Endy Miyem, one of the former teammates of “Caps” at Les Bleues, was the best scorer of the match for the defending champions with 17 points.

On the way out, the Landaises had held off in Bourges 70 to 70.

Montpellier narrowly reversed the situation by beating Roche-Vendée by eight points (100-92) after losing against all odds by six in the first leg.

The Héraultaises, who led by 15 points after three quarters, even scared themselves in the last ten minutes.

Asvel and Villeneuve d’Ascq confirmed their success outside the first leg by winning at home against Charleville-Mézières (85-47) and Angers (82-58) respectively.

The semi-finals will pit Asvel against Bourges and Villeneuve d’Ascq against Montpellier.
