An accuser retracts her testimony against Taha Bouhafs, according to La France insoumise
In a press release, Taha Bouhafs’ lawyers ask that “the stubbornness ceases”. One of the accusers of the ex-candidate of La France insoumise (LFI) in the legislative elections has withdrawn her testimony against the journalist, accused of sexual violence, Agence France-Presse learned on Saturday March 11 from LFI, which confirms information from The Express.
Then candidate for the legislative elections in the Rhône, the journalist Taha Bouhafs withdrew on May 10, 2022 by invoking the ” racism “ of“unprecedented attacks” against him by the majority, the right and part of the left. The next day, LFI announced that an internal investigation had been opened against him by the internal committee for monitoring sexual violence.
Taha Bouhafs then criticized LFI for not having allowed him to defend himself against these accusations of “sexual violence”the movement of Jean-Luc Mélenchon arguing “willingness for confidentiality” complainants.

“Absence of any contradictory character”
In a press release that Taha Bouhafs relayed on Twitter, his lawyers, William Bourdon, Vincent Brengarth and Raphaël Kempf, take “act of the withdrawal of a testimony in this political “procedure” flawed from the start by its absence of any contradictory nature, and from which we have not obtained, to date, any factual element”.
Asking that “the stubbornness ceases” so that their client “25-year-old who is not the subject of any legal proceedings can resume a more or less normal life”they point out that this case “has had extremely serious consequences on his social and professional life as well as on his health”.

They explain that Taha Bouhafs has “lost his job and hasn’t found one since”and that it was “insulted, harassed on social networks and in the street”even crossing “a severe period of depression”.
