“You were suspicious before this first round against an opponent (Marc Andrea Huesler) which you have not yet succeeded. How did you approach the game?
I had prepared to play it, I knew what awaited me. I knew he would play well, that I would have to be solid on my serves and patient on his to have a chance. I started well by giving myself break opportunities, but I couldn’t take them. I still found solutions to win this first set and I’m happy. In the second set, I was more relaxed and was able to play more effectively. Breaking quickly in the second set changed everything. He still had opportunities, but I was in a good period. The first set was long and whoever was going to win it was going to take a serious option on the match. In any case, I have the feeling of having really entered the tournament and of being able to project myself. Because as he had already beaten me twice, for the moment, I did not see beyond this first round.

Yes, I had break opportunities in the first set, but without succeeding. I asked him for advice. Still, the way I broke at the start of the second didn’t fit the plan (laughs). I should have been even more aggressive, but he made mistakes.

Your game acclimatizes very well to hard indoors. It’s desired ?
I think this surface suits my game well, although it’s not my favorite surface. But my game is effective there. Of course, I try to be efficient on all surfaces, but it’s on hard indoors that it works best for the moment, but I intend to perform well on clay as well. »
