20-0 and 21-0: the Martinique League will investigate two suspicious match results
The Martinican championship (R2) is in turmoil. Since Saturday, the results of the matches between CS Vauclinois and SC Lamentinois (20-0) and Stade Spiritain and ASC Hirondelle (21-0) have caused a lot of talk in the French department. So much so that the League reacted by publishing a press release in which it evokes the “out of standard scores” of these two matches counting for the 22nd day of the Championship.
“The LFM can only take note of the results mentioned above, it being understood that it must be reaffirmed here that, at this stage, there is no reason to accuse anyone of reprehensible acts”explains the authority which recognizes however that “the facts, ***ociated with their context, challenge and are likely to trigger questions and even excitement among the public and football players. » Moreover, the Martinican League estimates that “the results observed are sufficiently plausible to imagine that arrangements or collusion could have taken place between certain clubs. »
The LFM will “trigger the appropriate actions that will shed light on these events”
The Martiniquaise League in its press release.
The LFM has therefore decided to “trigger the appropriate actions that will shed light on these events” and does not exclude seizing the Public Prosecutor, as she specified in her press release. She also indicated that “a modification of the sporting regulations aimed at changing the criteria for deciding between teams on equal points will be submitted shortly to the vote of the general ***embly. »
Currently, after 21 days, CS Vauclinois and Stade Spiritain were joint leaders in the Championship with 68 points. The players of Vauclin are ahead of those of the Holy Spirit thanks to a better goal difference (+36 against + 33). If Saturday’s scores were to be confirmed, the order would remain the same with differences of +57 and +54.
After almost a month of investigation, the Disciplinary Committee had finally closed the file without further action. “Considering, however, that despite the serious doubts of the Committee of this meeting concerning the conditions of the meeting, it does not have sufficient conclusive elements and decisive evidence, allowing to qualify a fraud or a breach of the principles set out in the Football Ethics and Deontology Charter, and in particular with regard to loyalty and Fair Play, from FC Septèmes and AC Arles”she had justified, also considering that “the benefit of the doubt must be given to the defendants in this case”.
